Cullinan Diamond Mine
As one of South Africa’s oldest working pits, the Cullinan Diamond Mine offers visitors much more than just an excavation site. Guests can treat themselves to a one of a kind diamond experience that explores the 32ha, 750m deep underground mine and watch a diamond being cut into the 66 facet Cullinan Star CutTM and set into a personalised creation by a master jewellery craftsman.
Short surface as well as half-day underground tours are available.
There is also an opportunity to learn more about the various interests of the Cullinan Diamond Mine from the diamond interpretive centre, retail outlets, a training factory for local disadvantaged women and another local project, Imfundiso, a jewellery shop and school.
